GeneveRoule (Geneva Rides Bikes)
The area in and around Geneva has wonderful roads for cyclists. Cycling lanes are everywhere, with options for many suggested itineraries. The gentle terrain with gorgeous vineyards, forests and hills interspersed with idyllic villages make for a great day of cycling in the countryside. Take the road along the northern side of the lake, and find especially beautiful and delightful villages, where you can stop to justify some Swiss chocolate, or enjoy a café: Coppet, Nyon, Rolle, Morges. Ouchy (near the captivating Olympic city of Lausanne) hug the lake, and Lausanne clings to the hills above the lake. Lausanne is about a 3+ hour ride from Geneva, with no stops. Cycle one way to Lausanne and enjoy a scenic train ride back to Geneva..
