Historic Downtown Grapevine
Grapevine city center is unusual for the DFW Metroplex area in that it has preserved many of its 19th-century buildings. Local history groups have moved historical structures like a log cabin and the original jail to Main Street, and contemporary construction emulates the 19th-century architecture.
In Grapevine, enjoy visiting a village glass-blowing shop, independent wine makers (you can even make your own wine and return later when the grape juice has finished its transformation), small independent boutiques, antique shops and restaurants. In summer, participate in festivals like Grapefest and Main Street Days.
If you have time, take a ride on the historic Tarantula steam engine train from Grapevine to Fort Worth. This becomes an all-day outing.
There's free parking along Main Street and on the streets behind the buildings that parallel Main Street.
