The American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum is much more than a museum. It's a sight-and-sound, hands-on, window-seat look at the world of flight. It's an adventure offering you a chance to hear, see, touch and be a part of the exciting aviation industry. Best of all, it's a great place for the entire family - or any group - to enjoy, time and time again.

The museum includes a completely restored American Airlines DC-3, the Flagship Knoxville. The DC-3, designed with lots of input from C. R. Smith, the first CEO of American Airlines, was the first aircraft to make commercial passenger flight profitable for airlines.

The C. C. Smith Museum is one of the most popular museums in the Metroplex - particularly for kids, but also for adults interested in aviation.

An informative and entertaining movie, Spirit of American, is presented on a wide screen throughout the day and is part of the admission price.

Located two miles directly south of DFW Airport at the American Airlines training center. Take the South airport exit and follow the signs for Highway 360/Arlington. Exit immediately at FAA Road and turn right onto FAA Road. The museum is immediately on the right, but parking is on the left. Although the physical address is Ft. Worth, the C. R. Smith Museum, like DFW Airport, is 15 miles from Ft. Worth and Dallas. Drive south towards Arlington from DFW Airport.

Because this is an American Airlines facility, stop at the security gate as you approach the museum and advise the guard that you are a museum guest.
