The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel
Ever wanted to travel in a space-age pod with surround sound below the pulsing core of Shanghai’s center? Instead of crossing the Huangpu River on a bridge above water or on the doldrums of the subway, experience 2,121 feet of a music-and-lights orgy followed by a time-elapse gush of China’s history in images. Environmentally friendly and relatively uncrowded, it’s Shanghai’s solution for the cultural commuter. On either end of the tunnel are exhibitions on Buddhist art, a sex and health museum, as well as an aquarium. Incorporate this visit into a guided tour of the area.
