The largest aquarium in China is also one of the largest in the world. This purpose built facility near the Oriental Pearl Tower in Pudong, has an impressive collection of fish and marine mammals from around the world.
The exhibits are arranged in themed global areas – including the Polar Regions and Antarctica, the Amazon River, Australia, Africa and the deep ocean life. Look for the interesting collection of China marine life, including species from the Yangtze River, and some of the endangered marine life in Chinese waters such as the giant salamander and Yangtze alligator.
The 150 meter underwater viewing tunnel and underwater escalator offers great viewing of the fish and marine life.
Adults and children will enjoy public feedings of seals, penguins and the sharks in the deep water tank, which take place every day - normally held around 11am and 3pm, but best to check on arrival.

Take subway line 2 to Lujiazui station. The Aquarium is just to the east of Oriental Pearl TV Tower
