The longest continuously operating art museum west of the Mississippi River, the Crocker Art Museum provides a great look at California’s history through its large collection of landscape paintings. Founded in 1885, the museum is housed in an old Victorian house built in the 1860s. An expansion that will triple its size, add more exhibit space and family-friendly activities is in process. This is also part of a larger plan by the city to draw in more visitors by creating one of the top art museums in the state.

Regional Transit recommended bus routes include: 3, 7, 38, 52, 65 and the Dash Trolley. The nearest Light Rail stop is at 8th and O Streets. The Amtrak depot is at Third and I Streets.
Free admission on Sundays from 10am to 1pm. Open till 9pm on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month
