The Star Ferry
Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s emblematic Star Ferry dates back to 1888. The distinctive green-and-white, open-sided boats chug across Victoria Harbour on various routes between Central and Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island and Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom Kowloon side. For starters, try the trip between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui at night, when buildings in both sides of the harbor shimmer in neon. The jumping-on point for Central is at Central Ferry Piers seven and eight, near the fabulous IFC shopping mall. Jump off at Star Ferry Pier in Kowloon and dive into Harbour City for restorative retail therapy.
