Situated around a lake that is part of the city's old moat system, Tivoli Gardens opened in 1847 and is the world's oldest amusement park.

Fun for adults as well as kids, Tivoli offers much more than just thrill rides (though there are plenty of those). Your basic admission fee into the park includes a wide variety of entertainment -- concerts of all sorts, theater, mimes, and more. Fireworks and light shows are offered on some summer evenings. You'll also find a wide range of restaurants (though food is a bit cheaper outside the park).

Looking for dessert? Try a waffle cone filled with several scoops of ice cream, topped with a swirl of soft ice cream, jam, chocolate syrup, chocolate sprinkles, and a chocolate bar squished in the middle.

Schedules of events are posted throughout the park in both Danish and English.
