Canal Cruises

Copenhagen, Denmark
Opening Hours: Mar-Oct (April 1 to October 31)
10 AM to 5 PM
Price: 3 kr (0.433 USD) - 6 kr (0.867 USD)

Two competing companies offer 60-minute boat tours around the city, narrated in English, Danish, German, and occasionally other languages. It’s a great, relaxing way to get a quick overview of Copenhagen, along with the city’s history. Check the website for timings.

DFDS’s cruises cost twice the price and cover the same basic route as Netto Bådene. DFDS does, however, sometimes have more experienced guides. On Wednesday evenings in the summer, DFDS also offers a two-hour jazz cruise through the city – no information on the sights, but a live band entertains you as you cruise around Copenhagen.

Take the Metro to Kongens Nytorv. As you exit the station, go left, around the square, until you come to the pedestrian-packed Nyhavn harbor area. You'll find the DFDS cruises right at the start of Nyhavn, and the Netto Bådene cruises on the right-hand side of the harbor if you are facing the water at the DFDS dock.
Cruises run till 7pm in July and August.
